About Maitreya Mountain Village
Maitreya Mountain Village is a forming collective ecovillage amid the Siskiyou Mountain Range of northern California. Our community's design incorporates themes of self-sufficiency, financial independence, and sustainable ecology through organic agriculture, health, and permaculture. Living here is free and we are welcoming congruent, beautiful people, to join us in community. Currently there are only a few of us and the "village" is only an idea, but an idea that we are completely committed to creating the reality of.
A common vision sustains us: people living together in peace, sharing common interests, property, resources, and work. We embrace consensus decision-making, and non-hierarchical, self-government. An intention to live these principles and provide forums for learning and leadership motivates our actions.
